Righteous Consciousness

Some people are saying that to receive healing, whether it is physical or emotional, we have to break soul ties, generational curses, make lists of the traumatic events that happened in your life, etc. After all this, then these same people use the gift of healing to heal a person up. How effective is it?

There’s a better way! The Bible says that Jesus became a curse for us (Gal 3:13); that by His stripes, we were already healed (Isa 55:5 & 1 Pet 2:24); and as He is today, so are we (1 Jn 4:17). When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord, God declares us righteous. (Rom. 5:1.) In 2 Cor. 5:17, it says that we are a new creation! That means that our born again spirit is brand new! The old curses — unforgiveness — trauma — soul ties — etc. — have been put on the Cross!

We should not be sin conscious! The reality is that Jesus became sin for us and gave us His righteousness! He is holy, so I am holy! In Phil 4:1, it says to think about what is good, what is pleasing, what is praiseworthy, etc. Nowhere are we told to think about our old dead nature!

Galatians 1:8 says, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”

When God looks at you, He sees you healed, set free, and delivered! Why dig up the old past with the old man? Kick him back into the grave and put on your new nature in Christ!

Here’s a little testimony with a study:

Years ago, I had no clue I was righteous. I’d been stuck in an “ism.” There are “ism’s” in this world. But the day I submitted to Jesus, my life was changed. It is now Christ in me, the hope of glory! (Col 1:27.)

I never went back to the “ism.” In fact, I walked away from all I’d held dear my entire life. I didn’t know a thing about what the Bible sad about my new righteous nature. I only knew I was different. Soon, I began to tell people that it was all about what Jesus had done for me, not what I had done for Him.

Many people have never heard the Good news that Jesus had paid for all their sins. I find that many people are interested in religion today, but not in getting to know the Father through Jesus, His Son, and our Lord and Savior! Yet God is no longer “imputing our trespasses” to us. God has settled the account of the whole world’s sins. That is good news!

The sad thing is many believers don’t fully understand this almost too good to be true news. Many believers don’t realize that they have already been made righteous in Jesus. They don’t realize God is passionately in love with them; that the war is actually over. They don’t know that now they are dressed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, that they can go boldly before the throne of God without any shame at any time. The throne room doors are wide open.

That’s because they’ve been taught to be more sin-conscious than righteous-conscious. They are welcomed just as they are when they first get saved, but then they are taught to focus more on how they’ve messed up than on what Jesus has done for them and how much He loves them.

How do we become more righteous conscious? By understanding remittance. Once we understand it, something huge will cause our hearts to say, “Thank You, Jesus!” Remittance happens only one time. That one time is when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. At that time, all your sins are remitted for. Every one of them! Isn’t that awesome!!

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17 KJV).

You see, the problem we had before we were saved was not all those little individual sins we committed. They were only symptoms. The problem was the condition of our heart. The problem was our sin nature. No matter how hard we tried to be good and act right, that nature kept us imprisoned in sin.

But when we made Jesus the Lord of our lives, our sin nature died, and a righteous nature was born in us. Sin no longer has dominion over us. Righteousness set us free!

How long will Jesus’ sacrifice for sin last? We are perfected forever. We are forever righteous through the blood of Jesus. Hallelujah!

We all still miss it! But even when we do, it’s not the same because our heart is different. God doesn’t see us the same way He did before we were born again.

Think of it this way. If you’re a parent, you may know your child has done something wrong, but as far as you’re concerned, he’s still your child, and he’s terrific. He may need to be corrected, but there’s nothing wrong with him. You know he wants to please you. He just needs more training so he can learn to do things right.

Do your children fall out of good standing with you just because they mess up? Certainly not. It’s the same way in the family of God. Once you’ve been born again, your nature is changed. You don’t want to sin even when you do. It doesn’t feel right.

And when you do sin, you have Someone on your side. Jesus! “…these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1). “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

And all confession means today for us is to agree with God says about us!

While remission changes our nature, forgiveness erases our mistakes. And that’s the final word on sin! God has taken care of the sin problem forever. When Jesus became sin and put sin away, the sin problem became a closed issue with God!

You can still sin if you choose. God won’t stop you. The Holy Spirit will try to get your attention, and if you listen, He will guide you out. If you don’t, you can continue on with what you do. But you don’t have to sin. Why? Because you don’t have a sin nature anymore. You have a righteous nature.

God “has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col. 1:13). You’ve been translated out of one kingdom and into another one. We teach this in the Word, and people become well! Not only do they become well and healed, but they also become whole through the Word of God, and nothing ever comes back! And when the enemy attacks, they use the Word of God!!! Not some derelict running around pretending that he’s a deliverance minister.

People are so worried about the devil. They’re fighting the devil and bombarding the gates of hell all over the place. One author said, “If you really understand your righteousness in Christ and your authority as a believer, you will pay no attention to the devil. You’ll just go on and do your job.”

Jesus Himself said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:18-19).

Satan has no authority over you unless you give it to him. Why? Because Jesus has stripped him of all authority and placed it in your hands. He said in the Great Commission, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples” (Matt. 28:18-19.)… That’s excellent news, Church!

Be careful today who you listen to! They will either lead into the freedom that Jesus purchased for us by His blood or they will you into a prison of your own self.
