Chpt 13 – Your Spirit Knows All Things

1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV) “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ”.

Our born-again spirit came with the mind of Christ. The rest of the Christian life is learning how to draw it out into the physical realm. When that happens, we experience what’s called “revelation knowledge.” The mind of Christ is in our born again spirit. Our spirit mind doesn’t have to be developed, trained, or taught because it was born again in perfect knowledge.

You and I are still discovering the fullness of His meaning – even in just the Gospels alone! Nobody can claim total understanding and complete revelation because our actions and attitudes don’t back it up. Why? It’s not manifest in our limited little brain inside our skull! That’s why we are in the process of renewing our mind, and even that won’t be complete until we receive that which is perfect; our glorified body.

Double-Minded?

James 4:8 (NKJV) “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Our spirit mind and physical mind are 2 separate entities within us. When they don’t agree, double-mindedness comes. Notice that double-mindedness is in our hearts. This speaks to the fact that our hearts are designating the soul and spirit combination. The key to the Christian life is training our physical mind to agree with our spirit mind, which is the mind of Christ1!!

Our born-again spirit always agrees with God! When our natural mind thinks the same way as our spirit mind, we’re single-minded! That’s when we are believing with all our heart and see God’s power manifest. Our soul, specifically our natural mind and the way we think, is the determining factor!

Freely approach God with the confidence that He will receive us (Heb. 4:16). Submit and draw near to God (James 4:7). Let’s humble ourselves and receive His grace (James 4:6, 10). And be careful: don’t think “I need to cleanse myself to get closer to God.” Saint, we have been washed by the blood of the Lamb and are as clean as can be (1 Cor. 6:11). One with the Lord, we are as close to God as we can possibly get (John 14:20).

The exciting thing is that as we do draw near to Him, He will draw near to us! He wants to talk to us, lead and guide us more than we might want Him to. But the good news declares that through Christ we may draw near (Eph. 2:13). All the obstacles that stood between us – our sin, our hostility – have been done away with through one audacious act of love.

In the new covenant of grace, we are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb (1 John 1:7) and washed by the word of Christ (Eph. 5:26). We purify our hearts by submitting or turning to God in faith.

To be double-minded is to be caught between the old covenant of DIY religion and the new covenant of grace. Those who have invested heavily in religion or who are relying on their own moral performance are often of two minds when it comes to grace. They accept that God gives grace to sinners, but they don’t need it. “Why do I need grace when I am a good and hardworking person?” To those who are uncertain, the apostle shouts, “Choose grace!” (James 4:6). Grace saves us and keeps us. In the kingdom of God, it’s grace from start to finish (James 1:8).

Our spirit mind always thinks the way God thinks. The Word perfectly represents what we think in our spirit.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

James 1:5-8 (NKJV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Single-mindedness brings stability!

We Know All Things

In our spirit, you’re already a brand-new person (2 Cor. 5:17).

1 John 2:20 (NKJV) “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” “Anointing” means “unction” or “a special enduement with power, or an ability.” The Holy One is Jesus.

An anointing refers to the empowerment God gives believers to equip them for supernatural works. It refers to the work and indwelling person of the Holy Spirit. Every Christian has the Holy Spirit within them (1 Cor. 3:16). We don’t need to ask God to anoint us because He already has, and His anointing abides in us (1 John 2:27). It doesn’t run out or go away.

1 John 2:20 plainly reveals that we know all things. How can this be? In your spirit, we have the mind of Christ. The Greek word for “all” means “to the exclusion of nothing.” This means we not only know some things or many things but all things. In our spiritual mind, we know everything Jesus knows!

We don’t need some Elijah-type leader to lay hands on us as though we were Elisha, for you have been anointed by Jesus the Holy One. The Spirit of truth abides in us. John is telling the believers, “You know how to discern truth from error (1 John 4:6). We know how to recognize these false prophets and antichrists I have been speaking about.” Alternatively, John is saying, “The problem is not that you don’t know, but that you have forgotten that you know and you need me to remind you again.”

The Road to Manifestation

First and foremost, you must believe you’ve ALREADY got it. Once you truly believe you’re on the road to manifestation! Hallelujah!!!
