A Cheerful Heart – Part 1

What does the Bible say about a cheerful heart? About laughter? We are going to do a little study on both. Let’s start with laughter first. Enjoy.

Laughter is a fantastic ability that God gave us all. Laughter helps us cope with sadness and with life. The Bible tells us there is a time to laugh and a time not weep. The Bible also provides us with the strength to be able to laugh at the wicked. “The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.” (Psalm 37:12-13.)

Yet, for those who have right standing with God because they have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, listen to what their future is:

“Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” (Psalms 126:2)

What does Jesus Himself say about laughter? – “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.” (Luke 6:21)

Another statement from Jesus: “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'” (Matthew 25:21)

Never ever let your eyes off Jesus! No matter what you may experience with your 5 physical senses. Because the day is coming when the kingdoms of this world will be called the Kingdom of our great God and King Jesus. (Rev. 11:15.) And in that Kingdom, you will reign with Him. (Rev. 5:10; 20:4-6; Dan. 7:27; 1 Cor. 6:1-3; 2 Tim. 2:12a.)

Now if that doesn’t make your heart cheerful — if that doesn’t make you laugh inside…….
