Chpt 15 – Empowerment Required

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”

God has imparted perfect wisdom and complete revelation into our born-again spirit. Wisdom and understanding are keys that will unlock anything else in life we need. Therefore, draw on that wisdom and receive understanding so the floodgates of our soul will open up to allow God’s truths ALREADY in our spirit to manifest in the physical realm. Yes, we can live a fruitful and fulfilled Christian life!

Without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we won’t be able to fully release all of these wonderful realities ALREADY present in our born-again spirit. That’s why the baptism in the Holy Spirit is so important.

Since the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are One, they don’t operate independent of each other. The Holy Spirit in the One who releases the wisdom and revelation of God. He comforts, teaches and reminds.

John 14:26 (NKJV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

Life is too big for any of us to handle, but the good news is that God is our very great Helper (Deu. 33:26). “The Spirit also helps our weakness” (Rom. 8:26). He guides into all truth, listens, speaks, shows things to come, glorifies Jesus, receives of Him, and shows it by revelation to us!

The moment we said yes to Jesus, God stamped us with His seal of ownership and gave us His Spirit as a guarantee of our salvation (2 Cor. 1:22; Eph. 1:13). The Holy Spirit doesn’t come and go but he dwells or abides in us forever.

John 16:12-14 (NKJV) “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”

Apart from the Holy Spirit, we won’t have access to all that God has placed within us!

How often has the Lord had many things to say unto us, but we weren’t able to bear them? God, help us to have a sensitive heart so that we can receive everything You have for us. In this instance Jesus was saying there were many things beyond this positive ministry of the Holy Spirit, which He had described in John 16:8-11, that He wanted to tell His disciples. But they weren’t able to bear them at that time.

Today the vast majority of Christians haven’t understood these basic things the Lord shared about the positive ministry of the Holy Spirit; so they certainly can’t go on to greater things. This is a beginning point. If we don’t receive this revelation, we can’t receive other revelations.

The Lord doesn’t reveal to us things that we cannot receive. This is why we sometimes fail to get a response from God when we are petitioning Him for answers. It’s not that God is unwilling to respond; it’s that we are unable to receive. The way to overcome this hardness of heart is to yield to the ministry of the Holy Spirit that Jesus began to describe in John 16:13.

What a wonderful promise! The Holy Spirit will show us things to come. If we will listen and receive this ministry of the Holy Spirit, this will change our lives. We can avoid many problems and take advantage of opportunities that we would otherwise miss. Jesus had just revealed a whole new way of relating to God in John 16:8-11. The Holy Spirit wouldn’t be convicting people of individual sins but of the singular sin of not believing on Jesus. That’s the root of everything.

And then the Holy Spirit would reveal to us that we are the righteousness of God in Christ (John 16:10) and that Satan has already been judged (John 16:11).

Then Jesus said He wanted to tell them more, but they couldn’t receive it yet (John 16:12). Here, He spoke about how the Holy Spirit will lead them into all of these new things. So, receiving these revelations from the Lord that they were unable to receive at that time was dependent on them receiving this positive ministry of the Holy Spirit.

If we don’t receive this positive ministry of the Holy Spirit that Jesus revealed in John 16:8-11, our further revelation from the Holy Spirit will be blocked. What a powerful truth. This elevates the necessity of understanding and receiving this positive ministry of the Holy Spirit to an essential ingredient of revelation knowledge.

One of the keys to staying full of God is to glorify Him. To “glorify” means to value or esteem. So, the Holy Spirit will increase the value, or esteem, we place on Jesus. This cannot be done properly without the Holy Spirit, whose main job is to glorify Jesus.

Receive His Spirit & Pray In Tongues (PIT)

When we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the ability to PIT comes with it. As we PIT, we draw on and release the wisdom that’s in the born-again part of us. It’s essential that we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit!

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a second, separate experience from salvation. We receive an enduement of power by the Holy Ghost and the gift of PIT, which will help us operate this power.

When we PIT we build ourselves up! But it’s much more than just an emotional life. It helps us release the wisdom of God within us! Even if there were no other results (which there are), that would certainly be enough! PIT’s produces tremendous spiritual benefits!

Don’t overemphasize PITS or under-emphasize the benefits of PITS to our Christian life thereafter! Don’t miss out on the tremendous benefits PITS brings to our daily life! We’re probably frustrated and powerless in our Christ life if we aren’t baptized in the Holy Spirit and PITS. Receiving the Holy Spirit will help us experience His love more than ever before and make His power available to us. Besides, the Lord Jesus Himself commanded, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost” (John 20:22). Will we obey?

As we pray in tongues (PIT’s), our spirit prays, and the perfect mind of Christ releases the hidden wisdom of God. Then, ask and believe for interpretation (1 Cor. 14:13). Let God give us understanding so that revelation knowledge of the mysteries we are PIT’s can come out into our physical mind. That’s when we’ll see His power manifest.
