Chpt 2 – Release What You’ve Already Got!

When we receive Jesus, there’s an “instant” and “complete” transformation (2 Cor. 5:17). As we learned in Chpt 1, God’s Mirror, it’s our spirit is – right now – as perfect, mature and complete as Jesus Himself!

The Pivot Point

This is all about renewing our mind to God’s Word and releasing what we’ve already learned about our new identity. Releasing what’s already in our spirit into our soul and body. When we do that, that’s when we experience the benefits of our salvation! Soteria (Greek Lexicon G4990 = deliver, health, salvation, save and saving! Saved from the penalty, power, presence and most importantly the pleasure of sin)! Sozo (Strong’s Greek Lexicon G4982 = to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction)!

Our born-again spirit is ALWAYS for God because it’s already been completely changed into His likeness and image. Our soul and body will experience the life, victory and power that is in our spirit when our soul agrees with our spirit! The majority always rules.

WARNING: The supernatural flow of life from our spirit to the physical realm stops when our soul agrees with our body. Why? Because majority rules in this arena. When the soul agrees with our spirit, the supernatural flow of life becomes active. But when our soul agrees with the physical realm, then the power of God stops. Why? Because it is dominated by the natural realm.

What’s in our spirit MUST flow through our soul in order to get out to our body and the physical world around it! Why? Because the real us is our spirit!

The Real Us

Think of 3 circles inside each other (like a “target”). The outer circle – our body (It’s the part we can see and feel). Inner circle – soul. Our soul touches both body and spirit. The “bulls eye” or second inner part – is our spirit. This is who we truly are! Can’t be seen or felt!

The spirit is the core of our being! The real us! It’s our life-giving part! In the same way, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ is how we give life to our faith. Faith comes to life when we believe the God’s Word. As we allow the Word to take root in our hearts, we receive the life of Christ and are born again into new and everlasting life. (Gen. 2:6; James 2:26).

God created us as a spirit. That’s who God is (John 4:24), and as His children, that’s also who we really are. The spirit is what gives life (John 6:63; 2 Cor. 3:6; and James 2:26). It’s God’s breath that gave us life. He blew His Spirit into us and created our spirit. Since God is a Spirit (John 4:24), He put Himself inside of us. And it’s the spirit that gives us life.

Our spirit has NO direct access to our body. It must pass through the soul (your mental/emotional part) in order to come out to our physical body!

Is Our Valve Open?

Think of a “pipe.” One side is our spirit and the other our body. Our soul is the “valve” between the two ends.

When we open the valve, what’s in our spirit can flow through to our body. Depending upon how open it is, the flow of life could be just a trick, a small stream, or rivers (John 7:38)! When closed, the flow from spirit to body shuts off completely.

The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is in our spirit! (Eph. 1:18-20)

Open the valve by renewing our mind in God’s Word! The eternal reality already in our spirit will impact the temporal “reality” of our physical realm. Even though we have the resurrection life of God in our spirit, our soul can keep it shut off so that not one drop of life-giving power ever touches our physical body.

We already possess God’s love, joy, and peace in your spirit (Gal. 5:22). Our soul is pivotal! That’s why we need to be transformed (Rom. 12:2). That’s why 3 John 2 says “Beloved, I wish above ALL things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers!”

Our body doesn’t really control anything! Hmmm!! Unless we let it get its way all the time. Basically it just goes with the flow of what it sees, tastes, hears, smells, and feels unless otherwise influenced by the soul. It’s neither good or bad. It just goes along with what’s happening in the physical realm. We need to get to the place where we say “no” to our body’s demands. The more we show our body who’s in command, the more our body will start to believe us when we say, “I am the healed of the Lord!” “He sent His Word and healed us and delivered us from ALL our diseases!” “By His stripes I was ALREADY healed! I am healed!” “As Jesus is so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17)!

BUT when your soul agrees with your spirit, the life of God in you will manifest itself in your physical body! You’ll experience HEALING – DELIVERANCE – ANOINTING – VICTORY- POWER – JOY – PROSPERITY – on and on it goes!

Victory Begins

Everything you’ll ever need in your Christian life is already there. Just renew your mind and release it! This simple understanding can change everything! The Christian life is a process of renewing our mind and learning to release what we’ve already received.

We’ve Already Got It

In our spirit, we are brand new and complete. God has ALREADY given we everything we need.

The rest of our Christian life isn’t learning how to get from Him but rather discovering how to release what He’s already placed within!
