Hearing God’s Voice 24/7
How exciting it would be to be able to hear and recognize God’s voice as clearly as the great men and women of the Bible, whether young or old. Guess what? You can! That’s part of the good news of the Gospel! The result of the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Our main text: John 10:27 (AMP) “The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.”
The number 1 way that God speaks to us today is through the “B-I-B-L-E.” So open it up! If you don’t have one, get one! Ask a friend for one! Download one. It will prove to be one of the most valuable items in your possession.
It is exhilarating to think about the possibilities. But first, let’s look at some practical ways that we begin to hear the voice of our God and Father.
- Discipline yourself to set aside time each day to hear God’s voice. (Hab. 2:1).
- Expect to hear God’s voice.
- Never listen to voices that oppose God’s Word (2 Peter 1:19).
- Obey Him in things you already know His Word says.
- Keep your heart soft. Hebrews 3:15 says, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.”
God loves you so much! And His love is unconditional. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. He is with you everywhere you go. And He is speaking to you 24/7, no matter where you are. No matter what situation you find yourself in. Just keep your heart humble. This will enable you to hear His voice. Want solutions to life’s problems? Start listening to God!
Now, let’s focus on some of the benefits of hearing God’s voice:
- Rest.
- Peace.
- Supernatural Deliverance.
- Favor.
- Forward Progress.
How can you know if it’s God’s voice or just you hearing? Romans 8:16 AMP tells us “The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God.
Here are some keys that will bolster your confidence that you’ve God’s voice:
* Your spirit is made in the very image of God. It will often “echo” what God is saying.
* What you hear will agree with God’s Word
* What you hear will agree with God’s Love
* What you hear will bring a peace that “surpasses all understanding.”
* What you hear will bring comfort, encouragement, and confidence.
* What you hear will agree with Jesus’ character, Jesus’ love, and Jesus’ grace.
* And this is the BIG key: Expect God to speak to you. This is the key that will cause you to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 2). You will see what you’ve been praying for manifest in your life.
So, believe that you CAN hear His voice. Make a decision right now — a choice — to listen to His voice with an expectant heart. Then watch! God will open doors that no man will be able to shut! You will find yourself receiving the highest form of wisdom, surrounded by favor, experiencing His provision, His protection, and His promotion!
