Jesus Changed Everything

What is the will of God?

That which is impossible is possible with Jesus! (Luke 18:27)

“Father, today bring revelation, understanding, and illumination to us by your Word through your Spirit.”

What is the will of God? Are you or am I in God’s will?

God has a WILL and a PURPOSE for your life! What’s important? Ask yourself this. Some people are tormented when it comes to this subject.

Do we really know God’s will and what it means?

God is an infinite God. Is it possible for us to find the will of an infinite God? Great question. And if I do find it, can I comply with it? Some people are even confused and tormented by this question.

Matthew 6:9-10 “After this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

God’s will for us on earth is the same as His will in heaven for us is.

God wants us to understand that what He desires in Heaven is what God desires here on earth today as well. In other words, God’s will is the same here as it is in Heaven. His will doesn’t change. If there’s peace in Heaven, His will for us on earth is to live in peace. If there’s love and joy in Heaven, there should be love and joy on earth. If there’s no sickness or suffering or pain in Heaven, there should be no sickness or suffering or pain in your life on earth. If there’s no poverty in Heaven; He wants prosperity on earth.

Perspective is everything when it comes to the will of God! And God’s will is a BIG subject!

Am I in the will of God? We need to see God’s will for us on earth from His perspective and not our perspective! Look from God’s perspective!

God’s eternal will is a “mystery” that He pre-planned before the beginning of time to be accepted in the beloved, adopted and redeemed through His blood, and forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:8 “Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence…”

God’s will was a secret because we were not exposed to the reality of His will! Making known to us the mystery of His will, His plan, and His purpose:

Ephesians 1:9 ‘Having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He has purposed in Himself:

Ephesians 1:10 “That in the dispensation of the fullness of times, He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him”

According to Paul, God judges and measures everything about our lives by the perfection and success of Jesus’ finished work on the Cross. This is the secret of His will: God now judges and measures everything because He has brought everything together – all the times and the ages – and now measures your life according to the complete finished work of Jesus Christ!

It is through our intimate union with Jesus the Christ that this mystery of God’s will for our lives is now revealed! If you want to know what God’s will is, you need to understand that in your intimate union with Jesus, when you become born again, He’s in you and you are in Him! Then you will have the fullness of God’s will revealed to you because God judges everything about you in Jesus’ finished work.

Ephesians 1:11 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:

Ephesians 1:12 “That we should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ.”

We have been made God’s portion (God’s own heritage) and we have obtained an inheritance! We’ve been chosen beforehand, in accordance with God’s will, who works EVERYTHING with the counsel and design of HIS WILL!

Because we have been chosen as God’s own heritage, God now works out everything in our lives according to the purpose of His will in our life! Hallelujah!

The will that we’re talking about is better understood when we think of it as the Last Will and Testament: God’s will. You don’t receive an inheritance until someone has died! Praise God! Jesus has already died! We have NOW become His literal heirs! He values our life in the finished work of Jesus!

My life contains what He has for me in His will!

We have been made the inheritor of God’s power and portion! How could this change the way you view yourself and your circumstances and the way you view the problems you’re facing? It just might change everything! Why? Because Jesus changed everything! Most people don’t view their relationship with God in the same light.

Repentance. What is it? Lots of confusion today about this topic. But repentance means simply changing the way we think! Making a shift in our thinking where we see ourselves the way God sees us

As a believer, we are alive to God, we’ve been adopted as Sons into His family, and therefore we are heirs and joint-heirs with Christ!

Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:16 “The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Romans 8:17 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

IF you are a believer here today – you’ve received Jesus as your Lord and Savior – and you’ve become a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17) – when you hear you’re the Sons of God even though your mind and your thoughts may be “No, I’m not. I don’t act like it. I don’t sound like it.” If you’re a believer and you’ve received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you are a Son and a Daughter of God just as Jesus is the Son of God!

You need to realize that the New Covenant – established in the blood of Jesus Christ which is symbolized in the bread and wine – is not the same thing as the New Testament.

The New Covenant and the New Testament are NOT necessarily the “same” thing.

“Covenant” in some places in the Bible is translated as “testament” But there’s a difference! It’s necessary to translate it but we need to see the context! Because the context determines the translation.

2 Perspectives: The context in which its used determines how it’s translated in our language.

Hebrews 8:6 “But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises!” Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus!

Covenant is obviously WAY more and WAY more serious than a “contract.”

“Mediator” — Jesus, our High Priest’s ministry, is WAY more excellent and superior because it’s a New Covenant enacted and resting upon more important promises! He’s brought an agreement into existence that’s WAY BETTER than the old covenant.

Amplified says He’s the Mediator; an arbiter – the correct word. An arbiter is a person who has the power and authority to decide what shall be done or what’s acceptable to be done. This is what is acceptable. A person who has the entire control or responsibility to settle the legalities between one or more parties. Jesus is the One who is the Mediator – arbiter – of this New Covenant! Jesus is NOT just the arbiter who settles the legalities between two or more parties, but is also the ONE who made, established, and ratified a new agreement based on the legalities He came up with!

“Ratified” means to confirm, and validate an official agreement! The writer in Hebrews is saying Jesus Christ is not only the arbiter of a New Covenant or the one who decides the legalities – He also brings in an agreement between the disputed parties.

Hebrews 8:6 (NKJV) “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant which was established on better promises, for if that 1st covenant (old covenant) had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a 2nd. v8 Because finding fault with them, He says, “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make (ratify/validate) a New Covenant…”

Jesus has forever ratified, validated, and established a better covenant and agreement — the New Covenant! Jesus decided the legalities of it, settled the disputes, and He made the New Covenant!

It’s important also to understand that this New Covenant Jesus makes is an agreement between God the Father and God the Son, Jesus Christ. The New Covenant is now a covenant or agreement made between these 2 parties! Our loving Abba Father! Our Lord and Savior!

Jesus alone entered into this New Covenant/Agreement with the Father and Jesus alone has done everything necessary to supply whatever was needed to forever secure the New Covenant!

Nothing I do or neglect to do can change the validity or legality of the New Covenant and its effects on me! Why? Because I don’t have a covenant with God! We have taught in the church that God had a covenant with Israel and now we have a new covenant and are standing in a new covenant! No! We don’t have a new covenant with God! Jesus does! He found fault with the old covenant! With the people. The old covenant was inferior! It couldn’t accomplish God’s will! God found fault! It was the people with whom God had a covenant!

But now Jesus came and enters into a covenant with God the Father and the Son! They came into a New Covenant and validated/ratified this New Covenant! Praise Jesus! And it forever stands between the two: God the Father and God the Son! And the validity of this New Covenant has zero to do with us! It’s secure! Legal! Enforced! Independent from any one of us!

There’s nothing we can do or not do that will invalidate this New Covenant! God’s relationship with me is awesome and it’s personal! It’s a legal agreement between Father God and Jesus! God the Father and the God-Man Jesus Christ! Hallelujah! Do you understand what that means? The only way the New Covenant can be broken is if God or Jesus breaks the covenant! And they NEVER will!!!!!

This is significant to understand because the writer of Hebrews says that this New Covenant was established by the shedding of His blood! The brokenness of His body! This New Covenant is SEALED! NEVER TO BE BROKEN!

And it’s a covenant with many great, powerful, and wonderful promises!

Romans 4:13 “For the promise, that He should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Romans 4:14 “For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect!”

Gen. 17:4-6 “As for me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shalt be a father of many nations. 5. Neither shall your name anymore be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6. And I will make you exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of you.”

Gen. 22:16-18 “And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son: 17. That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the Heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed will possess the gate of their enemies; 18. And in your seed shall ALL the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My voice.”

Even if we could keep the Law 100% as Jesus did, the Law did not have the promise of Eternal Life! The Law does not have a promise that if you keep it you can have eternal life! But the New Covenant has this promise! And it’s not by keeping the Law but by the righteousness of faith!

Romans 8:16 “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end, the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the Law, but to those also who are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.”

Jesus obtained this promise because He had faith that God would make all men righteous if He would go to that Cross and shed His blood! Because of His faith, that promise is now stable, valid and secure to everyone who will come in faith believing in the Lord Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

Paul is saying there is a guaranteed promise to us!

Romans 8:17 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

If you belong to Christ, or in Him who is Abraham’s seed, then you are Abraham’s offspring and spiritual heirs according to the promise! Praise God! Thank You!!!!!

Peter 1:3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4. to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in Heaven for you!”

This promise that I am an heir is incorruptible!

I’m kept through the power of God to the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time! This covenant cannot be broken, cannot be corrupted! The promises of this covenant/inheritance cannot be corrupted!

In order to be an inheritance, there has to be a Last Will & Testament! It’s one thing to know there’s a potential inheritance for me in somebody else’s life! But it doesn’t mean anything to me unless I know I’m named in their will. But Jesus died in my place! And my name is in His will! Praise Jesus!

Hebrews 9: 15 “And for this cause, He is the Mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 9:16 “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Hebrews 9:17 “For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise, it is of no strength at all while the testator lives.”

Jesus died for me! He is my Lord and Savior! And He is the Testator of God’s Legal Will and Testament!

Jesus is life! But He had to lay down His life, shed His blood, and die to be the Testator of this New Covenant!! This is the New Testament! The New Testator! Jesus died and established, ratified, and made legal God’s Will and Testament! It can never be altered! Because Jesus died! He’s dead! The fact that He died means the covenant is forever sealed and the inheritance is made legal to the ones named in the will!

You and I will receive the bequeathed goods and properties! Jesus is the Testator and assigns His own affairs to someone else’s favor! To my favor! To your favor! For a Testament! A legal will and testament is enforced after a man dies. Jesus is the Mediator, the Arbiter, and the Ratifier of the New Covenant! He is the Testator — He’s the One who makes God’s Will legal and in effect in my life!

That means nothing, though, unless you know you’re mentioned in that Will! Listen to the next statement of Paul to the church in Ephesus:

Ephesians1: 11 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will: (I am NAMED in His will! I was beforehand put in His will in accordance with His purpose who works out EVERYTHING with the counsel and design of His Own Will)!

Ephesians 1:12 “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. (I have been destined and appointed to live for the praise of His glory!)

Ephesians 1:13 “In whom you also trusted, after that, you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 1:14 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 1:15 “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

THERE IS AN ETERNAL INHERITANCE AND I AM IN GOD’S WILL!

Am I in the will of God? Yes! Praise Jesus! The rest will come by itself! Never again allow the enemy to say I’m not in His will! I am in His Will! I am the inheritor of an inheritance that has already come! Because the writer says

RIGHT NOW, I AM IN HIS WILL!

I am confident we are in the will of God because the covenant is between Jesus and Father God, and there’s nothing I can do or not do to change that! That means I’m in His will! and I’m His Heir!

Go back to communion: Say I partook of the bread and wine, and communed with Him. Jesus said we need to do this in remembrance of Him! And this is how we remember Him! “Thank You Jesus that You are the Arbiter and Establisher of a New Covenant that has zero to do with me! Nothing I do or don’t do can affect this covenant! And I am an heir named in His will and You are the Testator of that will! You have made it legal for me today to be a recipient of the inheritance! Sickness and disease have zero place for me in my body! Poverty has no right to put me in skid row! My inheritance includes a sound mind!”

Join me! Claim your inheritance! Speak it with your mouth!! You must claim your inheritance!

“Heavenly Father, I come to You. I thank You that You had the wisdom, the insight, to plan and purpose this New Covenant! Thank You, Lord, that it is an agreement not between me and You but between You and Your Son! Eternally ratified! Nothing I can do can change it, influence it, or nullify it in any way. I receive the promises as an inheritor of the inheritance of Jesus, the Testator Who died! Thank You, Lord, that You were willing to die on that Cross so that the inheritance may become stable for me to receive! I receive it in Jesus’ name! No more will I walk in the inferiority of what this world has to offer, but I will now live in the superiority of this superior Covenant with superior promises in Jesus’ Name!  Amen!!”

We are accepted in the Beloved!

Ephesians 1:5 “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

Ephesians 1:6 “To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us accepted in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Ephesians 1:8 “Wherein He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

Ephesians 1:9 “Having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He has purposed in Himself:

Ephesians 1:10 “That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him!” Amen!
